The Socialist Party believes that the 'Furnish Plan' is considered necessary but insufficient and vague (01/03/2010)

The PSRM-PSOE has welcomed the step taken by the Ministry of Universities, Industry and Research with the announcement of Plan FURNISHED, aid the timber industry because "it's better than nothing and in times of crisis some help this important sector. "

The Socialist deputy for the constituency of the Altiplano, Domingo Carpena, believes the Plan is necessary for the particular impact that potentially will have on the Timber industry, especially in Yecla, where between 5,000 and 6.ooo workers and about 300 enterprises are the furniture industry, but believes the project presented by the Council insufficient, by the vagueness and the way is the focus of management.

Therefore, on Wednesday announced an initiative to defend the Regional Assembly to discuss this issue.

Renovation Plan

He recalled that the Parliamentary Socialist Group in the Regional Assembly presented a much more ambitious renewal plan, via amendments to the budgets of the CARM for 2010 and, subsequently, a motion that record the demands of employers in the sector.

The Socialist amendment, introduced last November to the general budget of the Autonomous Region, called for 1.5 million euros earmarked for the development of the Plan Renovation Furniture sector support.

It should be noted that neither the regional budgets for 2010 or the companion report, the Ministry envisaged a budget for this purpose.

"Moreover, the socialist proposal of aid was rejected by the Popular Party."

Carpenter said Sunday that the amendment picked up the request of AREMA (Regional Association of Employers of the Wood), who stressed the need to conduct a similar regional RENOVE Plan which had been made in the Basque country, aid the purchase of furniture, as the economic crisis is seriously affecting the sector at regional level and especially industrial activity in the town of Yecla, which is the main economic activity.

The socialist parliamentarian expressed concern that "in Yecla since the inauguration of President Valcárcel, unemployment has steadily increased.

So at the beginning of the legislature, in June 2007, registered unemployment was 1,003 people, while in January 2010 and amounts to 3717 (1,700 industrial sector).

Also there have been many EREs, and closure or bankruptcy proceedings of companies, because the cabinet crisis will drive the collapse of the building, "he said.

Inadequacy and vagueness

The regional deputy criticized the inadequacy and vagueness of the measures proposed by the Minister, Salvador Marin, Furnish Plan, as it speaks of 1.2 million euros for aid to the cabinet and the renewal of windows, but does not specify the exact amount of aid to the cabinet.

Carpenter said Sunday that "if it was half this amount, the amount would be ridiculous to have, at least some influence on the incentive to buy furniture, given the turnover of the sector in the region," he said.

Nor is it clear FURNISHED Plan, how it will help the furniture industry both regionally and nationally, against competition from lower-quality furniture from other countries such as China.

PSOE is also concerned that an agency related to energy (ARGEM) that manages aid to stimulate the sale of furniture, and wonders what are the Directorates General of Trade and Industry.

For Sunday Carpena "gives the impression that the Plan in addition to its failure FURNISHED attempt has been made hastily, in haste, to try to fix and save the face of the PP in Yecla contempt by the Government breached the industry Valcárcel Furniture yeclana, and to the people of Yecla, when the budget debate, voted against our proposal, which was, lest we forget, the employers, "the deputy.
