Delivery of three terracotta pieces for the Municipal Archaeological Museum (16/02/2010)

The Municipal Archaeological Museum "Cayetano de Mergelina" has taken delivery on deposit of various archaeological material from the archaeological site of The Down-Quiñones and Diego Rabosera located Carpena and Juan Vicente Luciano Marco Jimenez.

These three pieces of terracotta dating from the third century-early second century BC: a male head, a nude male figure and a figure without a head and without legs.

Once depositors recognize in them values of the cultural heritage of the region of Murcia, and hence their classification as public property decided to surrender to the competent authority in cultural matters.

The Municipal Archaeological Museum is planning to use these museum pieces fit, committed to its proper preservation, documentation and, where appropriate, restoration and exhibition.

In addition communicate to the Department of Fine Arts and Cultural Assets of the Region of Murcia, the delivery of these parts and a detailed report thereon.
