The Community improvement of communications in the Altiplano with the road widening of Almansa (19/10/2009)

The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, and the mayor of Yecla, Juan Miguel Benedito, today placed the first stone of the expansion works of the road from Almansa, with the aim of improving communications in the region of Altiplano with the province of Albacete.

The project involves an investment of 209,960 euros, financed entirely by the Directorate General of Highways, that will widen the road platform, whose rails are replaced by 3.5 meters each, with 0.5 meter shoulders, respecting the existing elms .

"This work is framed within the Action Plan Conditioning urban fabric, will increase road safety for more than 34,000 residents of Yecla, the main users of this form of communication," said the counselor.

It also plans to build a bike lane attached to the track, which produce annually more than 275,000 travel.

Also in the town of Yecla, the Highways Agency has a number of other projects such as improving the RM-404, known as Fuente Alamo Road, which act on six miles of track in a first stage, whose budget is estimated at 2,946,463 euros.

"These works will be bid in 2010, which will start a project on another of the works that have daily impact on the movement of yeclanos, offering comfortable and safe mobility in the surroundings of the town," said José Ballesta, who advanced to turn the study report of the highway Yecla-Santomera now complete, so you can present itself over the coming days.

Primitivo Casino Rehabilitation

During his visit to the municipality, the Minister took the opportunity to check the status of the rehabilitation work of Primitivo Casino, with a grant from the Directorate General of Land and Housing of one million euros, which adds another of equal value by the Ministry of the Presidency and government.

This intervention is aimed at the rehabilitation of the work originally planned by Justo Millán, which provides for the recovery of those features of ornamentation contained in the original elevation drawings.

In addition, a panoramic lift will be built and several classrooms, a total of 1,859 square meters.

"This is a very special performance on one of the main values of the local architectural heritage, whose works are so advanced that they hope to attend his inauguration next year," said José Ballesta.
