From the Municipal Socialist Group have always been aware that water is a scarce commodity.
In our area, cost, and appropriate use has been one of the priorities that the Socialists have, both as a general level Yecla.
See for example the many initiatives and proposals that have arisen in the Municipal Council and various Advisory Committees.
In March 2009 the River Basin and, following the report of the River Nursery, opened a file to the City of Yecla for exceeding the annual volume of water extracted, an issue that concerned us, we have been engaged and which we have been doing a compliment for proper monitoring solution and yeclanos Yecla, so we have had several contacts and meetings with the Segura basin.
In this sense, the Socialists, we have known and so will inform the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura Yecla the City Council that:
1 record has been filed to the City of Yecla open by the Segura River Basin, which opened last March and due to be exceeded more than 250,000 cubic meters allowed the extraction volume in the year.
2 º has been amended to grant use of groundwater with the inclusion of a second supplementary borehole and an increase in the volume of extraction required to meet population growth in Yecla, with an allocation of 250 liters per capita per day.
The Socialists want to emphasize that in this as in all matters that are of general interest to yeclanos will continue working on behalf of the interests of Yecla, beyond electoral and partisan interests.
