505 students from the Region V presents the design of CETEM Olympics (16/03/2009)

The Furniture Technology Center and Wood (CETEM), located in Yecla and belonging to the Network of Technological Centres in the Region of Murcia, has organized five years ago in collaboration with the Seneca, the Olympics of Furniture Design in order to promote interest in technology and culture of innovation among high school students in the Region of Murcia.

The theme this year was "Create Your Cabinet", in which the students have made a creative effort in order to obtain different types of furniture for the rooms by incorporating new features, technologies and mechanisms.

In this edition eight institutes participated in the Region of Murcia, adding a total participation of 505 students.

All papers were evaluated by a jury of Seneca Foundation director, the director of CETEM, a businessman in the furniture industry and a designer.

The jury looked at the work taking into account the different existing categories in the competition.

The first category consists of students of 1 º and 2 º ESO, the second category for the students of 3 º and 4 º of ESO and the third category of students 1 and 2 of high school.

In each category are awarded 3 prizes consisting of: the first prize of a laptop, a console second prize and third prize a digital photo camera.

The awards, which took place on Saturday March 14, 2009, was attended by President CETEM, Juan Carlos Munoz, President of Arema, Juan Manuel Ortiz and Jesús Sanz CETEM director.

In the first category, the first award went to Val Framework Erena J. IES

Martínez Ruiz 'Azorín "Yecla, the second prize went to Mary J. Soriano Palao IES

Martínez Ruiz 'Azorín and the third prize for Marta Sevilla Ricardo Ortega Soto del IES de Fuente Alamo (Murcia).

In the second category, the first prize went to Carlos Ibáñez J. Bordallo IES

Martínez Ruiz 'Azorín, the second prize for Chirstian Andrés Pacheco López Puche IES Castillo de Yecla and the third prize for the IES Alba Rubio J. Puche

In the third category, the first prize went to Juan J. Pérez IES Azorín

Martínez Ruiz 'Azorín "and third place due to the number of entries received, the jury chose to leave the desert.

The Institute V winner in these Olympics has been the IES J.

Martínez Ruiz 'Azorín ", for having the largest number of winners, the prize includes the guardian of students Maximum Vidal.
