The Spaniard Jose Carlos Diaz wins the Jose Luis Castillo-Puche Short Story Award in Yecla (28/01/2016)

The Director General of Educational Innovation and Attention to Diversity, Ana Millan, participated in the award ceremony

The writer Jose Carlos Diaz Perez (Gijón, 1962) with the work 'Eve nothing', the winner of the Short Story Contest XXIII José Luis Castillo-Puche, endowed with a prize of 3,000 euros and the publication of the story in the collection ' Hécula '.

The Director General of Educational Innovation and Attention to Diversity, Ana Millan, with the mayor of Yecla, Mark Ortuño, and presidentade laAsamblea Regionalde Murcia, RosaPeñalver, yesterday attended the ceremony for the award of this sacred event, organized by the Association Parent Teacher Institute named universal yeclano writer and sponsored by the Castillo-Puche Foundation.

Millan said the "consolidation" of the contest, which this year have been presented 104 works from all over the country, as well as other countries such as Belgium, Israel, Chile and Argentina.

The award-winning Diaz Perez, a graduate in philology, is the author, among other works, "The city and the islands' (1992) and 'Convalescence Remior' (2015).

He won the First Novel Prize City of Noega with 'Letters rogue' (2009).

The winning novel will be published within the Hécula collection, by the Institute of Secondary Education "Jose Luis Castillo-Puche 'rights to be reserved for editing.

This event occurs year after year as one of the institutional and cultural activities of greater significance in Yecla, and has positioned itself among the best literary contests nationwide.

Furthermore, in the event the novel 'Lambs' by Ernesto Tubía Landeras, winner of the last edition was presented.
