Preventive for heat stroke Campaign (30/06/2015)

The Councillor for Health, Angel Luis del Pino, presented the campaign of awareness and prevention of the effects of heat directed at the most vulnerable population groups, such as elderly, sick, children, athletes with intense activity and workers who perform their work outdoors

The councilor reminded that the loss of water and minerals through sweating, if not replaced, can produce a high rise in body temperature, which can even cause death if not receive immediate medical attention.

Headaches, cramps, dizziness, dry and red skin, rapid pulse, confusion and loss of consciousness are symptoms that can reveal the presence of these serious health problems.

Angel Pino, recalled that at the time it is detected this situation should immediately call 112 or 061. Meanwhile, it is important to cool the body, which should be in cool area, remove clothing, and give water, but only if conscious.

The information campaign places special emphasis on appropriate measures to prevent these heatstroke: not go out during the hottest hours, wear light clothing and footwear, protection from heat, drink plenty of water, make light meals and cool off at home not leave children or elderly in vehicles with closed windows and less
