The City of Yecla have 30 thousand euros to strengthen policies against child poverty (21/07/2014)

The City of Yecla receive 30,000 euros this year to combat child poverty from National Plan for Social Inclusion has launched the National Government, as reported by the Councillor for Social Policy, Remedios Lajara.

The council has explained that this national plan is endowed with EUR 136 billion for the next four years, in order to prevent children from being affected by the economic needs of families.

Includes a total of 240 measures in employment, benefits system and basic services.

It has been prepared by the relevant ministries in the field in collaboration with the autonomous regions, municipalities and associations involved in social inclusion projects

Remedios Lajara reported that the Autonomous Community of Murcia receive this year more than one and a half million euros for the basic care of children, of which 400 thousand euros will go to pay for basic income Murciano Institute of Social Action and the remainder more than one million euros, will be used to cover costs of social economic emergency needs related to food, clothing, clothes, toiletries, medicine or supplies to those families with children under 16 years.

The aid will be processed by the municipalities through social services.

During the month of July have had meetings with councilors and to explain how they will apply for these grants.

The Councillor for Social Policy has indicated that technical Center of Social Services Yecla has virtually completed the project where the cases where such aid may be applied are discussed.

It is expected that about 40 yeclanas families with children under 16, could benefit from the aid, to meet the requirements for application.

Remedios Lajara has indicated that these 30 thousand euros, in addition to the 180 billion euros already ordered the City Council in the budget this year to meet families at risk of vulnerability or social exclusion, so attention to these needs consolidates basic.

Finally the Councillor for Social Policy said that "these grants show the sensitivity to issues of social policy of this government and commitment to those in need. Besides developing strategic plans must provide them financially to make them possible. Would also appreciate so very positive that has been taken into account when local councils when applying this aid because local governments are implementing such social policies, from close to the citizens, knowing the needs of each municipality "
