The Yecla Furniture Fair enables a consultancy service to export furniture (14/03/2013)

This edition will be developed over the next 8 and May 11

The Yecla Furniture Fair, which celebrates its 52nd edition from 8 to 11 May next, has increased its efforts to help its exhibitors to go outside with a consultancy specific to export.

Experts and professionals agree that the future of regional furniture industry goes largely by the international market, much more active than national, which is in full retreat.

In 2011, the last full year available, furniture Murcia companies-most 13,000 yeclanas-led business operations abroad, 18% more than in 2010 and nearly triple that ten years earlier.

The volume of foreign sales that year reached a value of approximately 45 million euros, which succeeded in crisis the best results since 2003.

To help exhibitors to access these export opportunities, Yecla Furniture Fair has developed a specialized consultant with a catalog of specific services according to the characteristics of the companies.

Broadly speaking, we considered two groups of furniture industries to meet their basic needs.

The first consists of firms with little or no export activity.

To them make an international trade department in which, individually or in homogeneous groups of companies with similar interests, are provided business information, trade counseling and finding customers, agents and distributors abroad.

In the second group are the companies that already have export activity of some importance.

Unlike earlier, these firms tend to be well established abroad, so their needs are different.

The services provided especially useful for this type of companies are concerned with the legal advice on issues as complex as sales contracts, agency and international distribution, the cost structure of the supply chain, and training on the different conventions and norms governing international sale and transport, especially in land and sea modes.

These services will be offered by Sterna Consulting in very favorable conditions, including free consultations.

Trade as an escape from the crisis

In an effort to encourage foreign trade as a way to save the current economic climate, Yecla Furniture Fair has since crisis began working with the Institute of Development, an agency of the Ministry of Universities and Research Company, to promote the visit of great potential foreign buyers to the regional fair of furniture.

To further accentuate this international aspect of the Yecla Furniture Fair in 2011 joined the contest the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX), which has since installed a booth during the event from exhibitors advising on foreign markets.

In the 2012 edition, in addition, for the first time a space was at the fairgrounds where potential foreign buyers contacted by the Instituto de Fomento exhibitors interviewed sample most likely could do business with them, as the profile of their products.

Thus, the 320 exhibitors were able to maintain bilateral meetings with potential buyers selected from importers, distributors and specifiers of furniture from other countries.
