Juan Chinchilla delivered to the Minister of Public Works a letter calling for the urgent continuation of the A-33 (03/08/2012)

Although the PSOE had asked Mark Yecla Ortuño a meeting of the spokespersons of the City Hall of Yecla with the Minister and it has not been given the hint and has not even responded, the Socialist councilor has delivered Ana Pastor of a letter requesting a continuation of the works.

The secretary general of the PSOE in Yecla and councilor in the city of Yecla, Juan Chinchilla, has delivered during the opening ceremony of the sections of the A-33, Santomera-White and White-Jumilla, a letter of request as Yecla citizen of the urgent further work to enable completion of the A-33 as was anticipated by the previous Socialist government.

Earlier Yecla PSOE has issued a statement asking the mayor to promote Mark Ortuño a meeting between City Council municipal spokespeople Yecla to the minister, what has been ignored by the same Mark Ortuño.

Juan Chinchilla has delivered to the minister a letter "more as a citizen and resident of Yecla that as a politician" which says "We ask political will and high-mindedness. And recognition. Recognition of a city that has generated many jobs work and has much to contribute to the good work and perseverance of its people. We will show our support and appreciation aside any political difference if it decides to proceed with the works of the A-33 is imminent as it deserves Yecla ".

The sections opened today are the first two out of five planned and have been made by the previous socialist government of the nation led by Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero even though it was the current minister of Development, Ana Pastor, who will has opened.

ATT: Ana Pastor, Minister of Public Yecla, to August 2, 2012

We transfer you the urgent need for the town of Yecla is about improving vital infrastructure and continuing the following sections of the A-33 that we are inaugurating today.

Yecla is located at a crossroads in a strategic location right in the Spanish Levant, no rail link and a saturated primary road heavy traffic making the shortest path to bind Andalusia and Murcia to Valencia, Catalonia and Europe.

Despite the limitations of not having effective communication channels, fast and safe in this city has been forged in the last 50 years a leading industry around the furniture industry, wood and upholstery, as well as growing entrepreneurial companies around sectors such as footwear, mattress, or metal helmets, and a prominent agricultural labor, livestock and wine with denomination of origin wines typical of high quality.

Hundreds of freelancers, entrepreneurs and workers have built a powerful industrial center with virtually no foreign aid and investment, based on hard work, sacrifice and use of household savings.

That is why, now that Yecla is being hit hard by the crisis and the difficulties in terms of communication, is the shift to correspond to these people and this land by running the remaining sections to complete the course of this road from White to Fuente La Higuera.

Several decades yeclanos are claiming that the improvement of our infrastructure, and more specifically, the A-33 would be a boost for the area.

More so given the high levels of traffic on this route and the tragic accidents that have occurred in recent years in the N-334.

The opening of these first two sections very significantly improves the situation for Yecla, and we still have to travel nearly 40 miles to access this route by road.

We ask that you consider all the circumstances, be aware that we have gone from Yecla work stoppage to be around 5,000 unemployed, you need an incentive reindustrializador and improved communications is imminent, and furthermore, we talking about technical characteristics of relatively embraceable projects for the budget of a ministry like yours, remembering that the remaining sections are run from a lower cost by geographical easier.

We ask political will and high-mindedness.

And recognition.

Recognition of a city that has generated many jobs and has much to contribute to the good work and perseverance of its people.

Show our support and appreciation aside any political difference if it decides to proceed with the works of the A-33 Yecla so imminent as it deserves.

Signed.

Chinchilla Juan Torres - Municipal Socialist Group Spokesperson
