The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has seized and neutralized 780 grams of black powder, found by the owner of a warehouse located in the municipality of Yecla.

The action began when the Benemérita was alerted to the finding of two bags or canteens, usually used for the transfer of gunpowder, by the owner of a house in Yecla, while performing cleaning work in a warehouse attached to the property.

Quickly, a citizen security patrol of the Civil Guard traveled to the place, verified the facts and requested the presence of the Group of Specialists in Disactivation of Explosives (GEDEX) for its withdrawal with the corresponding security measures.

Shortly after, the TEDAX agents of the Benemérita took charge of the material: black powder of considerable antiquity, of the employee in employer's festivities of the Region of Murcia, in which the use of muzzleloader firearms is authorized.

The material has been deactivated by a controlled load in an isolated area and with the corresponding safety measures.
