XXV anniversary of Firehouse Yecla (21/10/2016)

The Minister of Presidency, Maria Dolores Pagán, accompanied by the mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño, participated in the Open Day of Fire Station Yecla for the commemoration of the XXV Anniversary, in which there have been a display of vehicles and photographs of the history of the park and various drills for schoolchildren to visit the facilities.

Maria Dolores Pagán appreciated the work to different fire crews who have worked at the park since it was opened in 1991. The minister recalled that the park provides direct coverage to the municipality of Yecla and support of Jumilla, and has a budget of 1 sergeant-chief Park, 5 corporals and 20 firefighters, a total of 26 workers.

The mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño, recalled that "the great work of its professionals, has made them a service much appreciated by the population of Yecla. They have been decisive in industrial development of the city, they have collaborated with associations in the good development of the festivity, municipality and have made continuous outreach work with schoolchildren in the city, with visits to the fire station or emergency drills in schools themselves "

Marcos Ortuño has reiterated "the commitment of public administrations to this fire station has personal endowments and necessary materials for their work"

The minister said the "unequivocal commitment of the regional executive for public safety," which, in addition to the Service for Fire Fighting, also refers to everything related to Civil Defence, Emergencies and Local Police, "which is essential for the warranty the rights of citizenship "

Moreover, Maria Dolores Pagán announced that the Autonomous Community will improve the facilities firehouse Yecla before the end of the year, thanks to more than 45,000 euros to finance the rehabilitation of the social area and the tower of practical regional investment in which your windows, doors and fences, among others are replaced.

These works are part of the Strategic Plan for Modernization of the Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue Region of Murcia (CEIS) 2016-2019.

Pagan said that the Fire of Yecla, which belongs to the Consortium for Fire and Rescue Region of Murcia, had during 2015 a total of 161 interventions, which involved an average of 55 minutes and 50 seconds intervention.

In the first half of 2016, the Park conducted a total of 61 interventions.

The current building of the park can accommodate seven vehicles permanently, setting different output streams depending on the type of intervention that is present.

These vehicles are two light urban pumps, with capacity for 1,000 and 2,000 liters respectively;

heavy rural pump and articulated arm with extinction, with both capacity 3,000 liters;

nurse of 9,000 liters;

heavy nurse of 12,000 liters;

and a vehicle for leadership.
