The City installed surveillance cameras to curb vandalism (31/05/2016)

Councilman Traffic and Safety, Juan Miguel Zornoza explained that the City of Yecla has proceeded to the placement of surveillance cameras in the Garden Avda. De la Feria (Garden Cespin) and on the street Generation 27 as a preventive measure against vandalism that have been happening.

The performance has focused on this particular area, as a pilot, which could spread to other areas of the city.

These facilities comply with all current regulations and have been authorized by the Government Delegation in the Region of Murcia.

The council has indicated that the City of Yecla had to invest "almost 90 billion euros last year to repair the damage that these behaviors have resulted in furniture and public facilities. It is unfortunate that we have to spend the public money to repair these damage caused by a few, rather than investing in other needs of all "

Zornoza has recognized that these cameras "will not completely solve the problem, because we are talking about cases that show lack of education, citizenship and respect for the property of everyone, but help the local police to act more quickly upon detection of acts vandalism and allow to recognize and identify the perpetrators so they can pay for their acts "

Finally, Councilman traffic has again made a call for "public awareness for citizens to immediately advise the 092 to detect any vandalism, helping the authorities to stop this scourge of society".
