The council woman has an extensive program of activities to mark the March 8 (23/02/2016)

March 8 people and companies who have worked on gender equality and reconciling work and family life is recognized

Councillor for Family, Women and Migration, Patricia Soriano has submitted comprehensive proposals for activities organized by its Department on the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day, to be held from February 15 to March 17.

First, it has organized an art therapy workshop, which will be carried out until mid-March, aimed at different groups of women in the city.

A workshop to promote self-esteem and conflict resolution through art in all its dimensions.

Involving groups of women from Care Center Gender Violence (CAVI), the association of fibromyalgia (AFIYE), the Association of Widows, the association of alcoholic rehabilitated (ARY) and groups of immigrant women.

It has also scheduled a workshop on gender roles and perspectives.

Patria Soriano explained that "this is a new workshop which will involve more than 200 students of eleventh grade of secondary schools in Yecla. A dynamic and participatory workshop to reflect on various aspects related to gender roles and perspectives."

Also it scheduled a talk on micromachismo, given by psychologist Miguel Angel Ortiz, March 2 at 20:30 pm in the Municipal House of Culture.

Councillor woman has indicated that this talk "is to analyze aspects of everyday behavior driven by machismo, violence as a form of hidden, silent and subtle, to be perceived in the daily"

Moreover, the Department of Women has also organized lectures on women, equality, coeducation, taught by technicians CAVI all sixth grade students from all the schools in Yecla.

On March 8, International Women's Day, was organized an official event (at 12.00 in the Plenary Hall) where the mayor of Yecla read the manifesto on the occasion of March 8.

In this event, it surrenders first awards in recognition of the work done in reconciling work and family life to yeclanas companies Xti and upholstered Fame, for the implementation of separate nurseries for their employees at their facilities.
