The Civil Guard investigates a driver for the crime of document falsification of the ITV sticker, in Yecla (03/12/2020)

The events took place when a motorcyclist patrol from the Cieza Traffic Detachment, which was conducting an alcohol and drug checkpoint on the RM-425 highway, Yecla municipality, controlled a passenger. The agents examined the documentation of the driver and the vehicle, which was later checked through the database of the General Traffic Directorate, which allowed them to verify that the periodic technical inspection (ITV) had expired since July 30, 2020, although a V-19 (ITV sticker) was affixed to the car's windshield that informed of the expiration in July 2021. Civil guards from the Traffic Research and Analysis Group (GIAT) of the Murcia and Alicante Traffic Sectors, initiated an investigation to locate the owner of tourism, which has recently been positive. The owner of the vehicle, a 48-year-old male, Spanish, resident of Villena (Alicante) has been investigated as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of falsification of documents, for the use of false certification related to the unauthorized use of the official mark of having passed the periodic Inspection favorably Vehicle Technique (ITV), apparently in order to go unnoticed by the police action and not be reported for driving with the ITV expired. Crime of documentary falsification In this sense, a recent judgment of the Second Chamber of the Supreme Court, of June 25, 2020, establishes that placing the ITV sticker on the windshield of a vehicle that has not passed the periodic technical inspection is criminal conduct classified in the Penal Code and punishable by a fine of three to six months. Second case so far this year This is the second case, so far this year, detected by the Traffic Sector of the Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, since on October 6, 2020 the owner of a damaged tourism at the height was also investigated from kilometer 116 of the A-30 highway (Albacete-Cartagena), municipality of Archena, for having placed a valid ITV badge on the windshield of the vehicle that did not correspond to it as the inspection had expired.
