Antonio Botías, speaker of the Constitution in Yecla (01/12/2020)

| The event will be held in the Municipal Auditorium 'Juan Miguel Benedito' with the capacity reduced to the members of the Municipal Corporation | 'It is important that in a situation as difficult as the current one, we remember the principles contained in our Constitution and for this, who better than a renowned journalist like Antonio Botías, who treasures not only the objectivity of journalism, but also the sensitivity of the writer' Next Sunday, December 6, the 42nd anniversary of the approval of the Spanish Constitution, Yecla will celebrate the institutional act that our city council has organized for more than thirty years.

An act that, as already happened on November 25 on the occasion of the day against gender violence, will have an extraordinary format and adapted to the requirements required in the situation caused by the pandemic that we are currently suffering. The event, which this year will have the Murcian journalist Antonio Botías as speaker and will begin at 1:00 p.m., changes the location that we have traditionally been having in the Concha Segura theater for that of the Juan Miguel Benedito Municipal Auditorium, with a reduced capacity for security to the councilors of the Municipal Corporation and the media, who will be in charge of making it reach all the people of Yecla. Antonio Botías Saus, linked to Yecla by his maternal grandmother, is a renowned journalist for the newspaper La Verdad, an official Chronicler of the city of Murcia and a professor at the San Antonio Catholic University.

He is currently the coordinator of Institutional Communication of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

He has been a preacher of the most traditional festivals of Murcia and author of studies, monographs and books specialized in the culture, history and heritage of Murcia. In Yecla, during 2004, he carried out the Act of Proclamation of the Festival of the Virgin and last year 2019 he was chosen by the Organizing Commission of the CL anniversary of the consecration of the Basilica of La Purísima for the presentation of commemorative publications' Celebrating the Will of a people.

' 'It seems important to us to remember the anniversary of our Constitution and the principles that it contains because today, perhaps more than ever in the last four decades, it is essential to support ourselves in it to continue growing as a nation and as a society.

And for this we have chosen Antonio Botías, a journalist whose words always reflect the teacher's teaching, the journalist's objectivity, the writer's sensitivity and the chronicler's wisdom.

' —Said the mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño.
