The opposition formations reproach the first mayor for excluding the orange municipal group from the plenary debate without the possibility of attending electronicallyThe municipal groups of Ciudadanos, PSOE and Izquierda Unida-Verdes have denounced "the clear violation of basic democratic principles" by preventing the presence of the orange formation in the last plenary session.
The opposition considers that this attitude "shows the most unsupportive and forward-thinking side of politics" and reproaches the first mayor who prevented the presence of Citizens by telematic means."This attitude of Marcos Ortuño is not typical of a democracy and worse, it is very common, disrespecting the councilors of the rest of the parties and, with it, the thousands of voters who did not bet on him in the elections", has indicated the spokesmen of the three formations, Antonio Puche (Cs).
Asunción Molina (PSOE) and Alberto Martínez (IU-Verdes).
The latter has pointed out that “in the Plenary in which something as relevant as the extension of aid due to the coronavirus was debated, Ortuño by his own decision has excluded Citizens from the debate, since the plenary session could be carried out electronically without problems, such as they are doing in many municipalities in Spain ”.
Martínez also regretted that "when the opposition councilors have reproached him for his decision, he has responded without arguments, only with contempt and insults."Opposition spokesmen consider that this behavior "is more typical of people who do not like democracy than of the mayor of all Yeclanos."The opposition spokesmen have also criticized that the councilor "tends to twist the City Council regulations for his own benefit to ignore the proposals of the rest of the forces", and have denounced that "he has vetoed the debate on an amendment presented by PSOE and, for therefore, it has only been possible to debate on the proposal of the PP, without taking into account the opinion of the opposition ”.The socialist spokesperson, Asunción Molina, added that “we have not been allowed to vote 'in voce' on the proposal to extend the application of the reduction in the activity rate to all the establishments, making the mayor manifest his null disposition conciliator and the lack of will to agree that he has ”.The orange spokesman, Antonio Puche, has once again emphasized that Ortuño "has once again shielded himself behind the officials to try to justify a decision that is completely his responsibility" and denounced his "lack of rigor and coherence, because in many consistories of our Region is already carrying out this type of telematic assistance ”.
Puche thanked the rest of the opposition for their support for their demands. This transmitted information is directed only to the person or entity shown as the recipient and may contain confidential or privileged data.
