Communiqué on the exceptional health crisis situation COVID-19]

The Association of Friends of Music informs you of the measures that will be taken in the educational system of our Music School for the month of April, since the state of confinement, it seems, will last at least for that period.

Wishing to be able to return to normality as soon as possible, we have studied and prepared a Virtual Classroom system that will allow us to maintain contact with our students and continue their musical learning during this stage.

For us it is essential not to lose the relationship with our students.

Furthermore, we are convinced that Music, now more than ever, constitutes a perfect and necessary element to help and enrich these difficult times we are experiencing.

The total closure of the activity would be a catastrophe of incalculable scope;

not economic, but also if not social, artistic, historical, cultural and human.

In no case has the possibility of giving up occurred to us, so we have made the decision to reinvent ourselves for this purpose.

For this reason we are convinced that thanks to the efforts of everyone (His Excellency City Council, Fathers and Mothers, Students, Teachers, members of the Board of Directors of the Association of Friends of Music, Partners and Musicians of the Symphonic Band) let's move on.

The measures that we have adopted are the following:

- Have the support and commitment of the Hon.

City Council to maintain its financial contribution stipulated in the current agreement.

- Reduce teachers' salaries, adapting the situation to the current moment.

- Lower the monthly fee to 50% in the Music and Movement subject and 30% in the rest of the subjects.

- Search for financing through possible aid that the government has planned to face this crisis.

- Creation of the Virtual Classroom of the AAMY Music School.

Something that will allow us to develop now, and why not in the future, an almost standard activity in music education.

(In fact, the importance that virtual or non-face-to-face teaching has acquired in regulated teaching (schools or institutes), proposed by the Ministry and the Ministry of Education, is being verified

Each teacher will contact their students to explain in a more personalized way the way in which they will carry out their follow-up classes, indicating the subject of work and the way to maintain that weekly contact, achieving, as we said before, that Music is the perfect tool to make such an extraordinary situation more bearable.

After this communication between teacher and student, it is necessary that, if someone is unable or unwilling to maintain this proposed activity, they should communicate it expressing the cause;

in this way we would study the argument, noting the possibility of taking the drop in our school with the consequence of losing the place for the next course.

Without further ado, waiting for the understanding of all, in the face of this extraordinary situation in which we are involved, receive a cordial greeting full of wishes that you are all in good health, as well as your loved ones.
