The hospital will be able to double its capacity (26/03/2020)

Yecla's solidarity does not stop: Hotel Avenida will house health workers who work in our hospital and the production of masks in Yecla reaches 240,000

'Controls on displacement and permanence on public roads will be intensified because it is essential that we stay at home to beat this epidemic' The mayor of Yecla announced several measures during the press conference that he held this morning.

Marcos Ortuño has underlined the solidarity that the people of Yecla are maintaining, yet he has wanted to make a new call for collaboration.

-'The health authorities insist that the greatest collaboration that we can all do, today, is to stay at home because the next few days are going to be very hard.

It is very important that we do not remain on the street.

It is vital that we confine ourselves at home and thus help stop this epidemic.

In order to increase this control of displacement, the State Security Corps and Forces in Yecla will count on the collaboration of our Armed Forces, specifically members of the Parachute Brigade, in the coming days.

In the same way, Marcos Ortuño has announced that the Yeclan companies, who are collaborating on all open fronts in this fight against the COVID-19 disease, have already manufactured more than 240,000 masks that are being distributed throughout the national geography - 'and not only masks.

We know that there are companies in Yecla supplying mattresses, beds, protective screens to hospitals and health centers.

Yeclanos 'solidarity is being exemplary.'

On the other hand, the offer that the mayor of Yecla made days ago making facilities such as the Yecla Furniture Fair or municipal sports centers available to health authorities, finally had the definitive approval yesterday.

The FMY facilities will be at the disposal of the Murcia Health Service to enable around a hundred beds if the development of the situation requires it, which would mean an expansion of one hundred percent in the capacity of the 'Virgen del Castillo' Hospital.

In this sense, Marcos Ortuño has announced that "the Avenida Hotel will also be at the disposal of our health authorities, in this case to accommodate the health workers who work in our hospital and request it."

To end Marcos Ortuño has called again to the strictest confinement for all Yeclanos and has announced that the Yecla City Council is already studying measures to regulate the departure 'both in time and distance from home', of people who go out for a walk your pets.
