Extension of municipal measures in the face of the coronavirus crisis (13/03/2020)

The mayor of Yecla has signed a new decree of measures in the face of the COVID-19 crisis. Calm, responsibility and awareness are essential to overcome this situation. I want to ask all Yeclans for responsibility.

Given the situation that is causing the virus known as COVID-19, the mayor of Yecla communicated a new series of recommendations this morning, while announcing the extension of the decree of measures adopted yesterday, after the meeting held in the Health Commission to monitor this crisis.

Marcos Ortuńo, wanted to emphasize first that "it is necessary to make an appeal for calm and tranquility.

It is necessary and it is good that we have respect in a completely new situation but it is also necessary that we do not let ourselves be carried away by fear. ”

In turn, he recalled that "if someone has symptoms, it is very important that they do not go to the emergency services, there is a telephone available to all citizens, which is 900-12-1212, where all the guidelines will be given to follow.

Finally, the mayor has detailed a series of indications alluding to calm, responsibility and awareness as fundamental axes to overcome this situation, asking the citizens of the town:

• Maintain a very limited social activity.

• Appeal to young people to avoid physical contact and meetings with friends and colleagues.

• Remind young university students who are returning to their homes that it is essential to quarantine at home for 15 days.

• Older people should be kept at home and should not receive more visits than essential

• Keep the little ones at home, since we are facing an exceptional situation.
