IU-Greens: "Yecla needs a Municipal Information Guide for immigrants" From Izquierda Unida-Verdes we believe that the consistory should prepare a guide, translated into several languages and available online, with all the information (12/02/2019)

Our locality welcomes migrants of more than 60 nationalities.

The new multicultural reality of Yecla must be accompanied by greater integration, as well as facilitating access to the different services provided by our municipality.

The language barrier or administrative functioning, very different from that of their countries of origin, often make it difficult to access information correctly.

We know that from Social Services or from some NGOs present in our city, interpreters are offered in different languages in order to overcome these difficulties.

Even so, we believe that the City Council could develop a guide with basic information and translated into several languages.

The "Municipal Information Guide for Immigrants" carried out by the municipality of Badajoz is a good example, written in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Arabic.

But it is not the only one.

Locations such as Cádiz, Getxo, Sagunto or Benavente have also adopted these types of guides, which can be accessed through the Internet.

Also, on the website of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia (CARM) there are other very useful guides for this group.

For example, the "Guide for immigrants in the health field", the "Guide for Resources for Families" or the "Guide for resources for the reception of socio-labor insertion for immigrants" are available, among others that can be found in this link.

All of them have, as an end, the integration of migrants in our society.

Therefore, we ask the City Council to prepare a guide for immigrants with useful information about our town: municipal services at your disposal, timetables, addresses of interest, public bodies to which you can go, NGOs and other non-profit entities for immigrants and with presence in Yecla ... That is, all the information they may need to face an integration without friction.

It should also be noted that, currently, the document "The attention to immigrants in Yecla" is on the website of the town hall, but it gives an error when trying to download it.

This guide, as is to be expected, must be translated into the main languages of the migrants who have decided to settle in our city: Spanish, French, Arabic and English.

In turn, it must be available on the City Council website, in the area of attention to migrants.

Finally, in the section "links of interest" there should be links to the guides promoted by the CARM.
