Last Monday was held in the auditorium of CETEM, the closing ceremony of the Tenth Master's Degree in Industrial Design and Furniture for the Sector.
In addition to the closing ceremony, paid tribute to all alumni of previous occasion of the celebration of the 10 th anniversary of the master and handed first prize "Lola Martinez, the student with the best qualification of the latest edition .
The event was attended by the Mayor of Yecla, Juan Miguel Benedito, the Director General of Universities and Scientific Policy, Eduardo Osuna, the Vice President for Research at the University of Murcia, Juan María Vázquez, the Director General of Industry, Energy and Mines, José Francisco Puche, and other members representing the University of Murcia, INFO, Arema, Conexmu, Furniture Fair Yecla, Yecla City Council, in addition to all students and teachers from previous editions of the master.
CETEM president told the students of the master that "the training you have acquired will do larger this sector.
Training is power and is in your hands. "
After the presentation of diplomas to students in this year's master CETEM University, gave the first edition of the special award "Lola Martínez" which went to the student Juan Manuel Mora Candela.
This award was presented by the Director General of Industry and former director of CETEM, José Francisco Puche, who explained that "I would have liked not having to produce ever this award because as you know is awarded posthumously.
This year students have not met Lola, unfortunately, she was perhaps a person who has done more for training in this sector and the forerunner of this master. "
The closing ceremony was conducted by the Mayor of Yecla, Juan Miguel Benedito, who explained that this is a great moment because "the best way to deal with the crisis we are facing is trained and CETEM is an example of this."
He also announced the next edition of the master, the eleventh, which is already open enrollment period.
CETEM launched this master, conscious of the need for companies to incorporate technical expertise in the furniture sector in general and of upholstered furniture in particular, with the aim of completing the training tailored to business reality Sector.
This Master was preceded by the "Specialization Course in the Furniture Sector" in 1997, which was funded by the Instituto de Fomento Region de Murcia and European Social Fund.
With a duration of 200 hours, was aimed at university students, to provide a minimal expertise in the industry.
After this pilot and due to its success, decided to develop a more ambitious project with a longer duration, 500 hours, and more specialized in the furniture sector, subsector applied to upholstered furniture, kicking off the "Master in Technologies for Industry Upholstered Furniture "in October 1998 and ending in March 1999.
On this occasion also was funded INFO and European Social Fund through the Annual Convention established between the entity and CETEM.
After the excellent results of course from CETEM project was presented to the University of Murcia, with the objective of the Master obtained the status of university.
Following the submission of a report of the Master and output information to the University of Murcia, the Vice President for University Extension Education approved the plan, and thus became a Master's Degree.
In these ten editions have trained a total of 180 students, most of them are working in the furniture industry in the region.
