"Important and necessary" is the rating that it has received the City Commission of Truancy and Dropout, officially constituted on Thursday, May 16, 2013 in the city of Yecla, with the assistance of almost all of its components.

The constitution of this committee is part of the cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment and the city of Yecla for the development of Regional Prevention, Monitoring and Control Truancy and Dropout Reduction Program (RESP) , applies to all schools, public and private schools in the municipality of Yecla.

Among the issues addressed in this session include constitutive functions and objectives for the committee as well as the intervention protocol, monitoring and control of schools, and the procedure to follow when records of truancy referral to other government , as the prosecution.

The Councillor for Social Policy, Antonio Puche and responsible Municipal Truancy Program, Josefina Simarro have shown that the protocol in this matter is being implemented effectively in Yecla for over eight years, with a procedure intervention and transfer of information similar to that provided in the current regional regulations governing the RESP program.

According to Councilman Antonio Puche, "the kindergarten service, the family program and attention to diversity, as well as occupational class are municipal resources that reduce truancy in Yecla and technical help of Social Services to detect this problem quite immediacy ".

The City Commission Truancy and Dropout is formed by the Councillor for Social Policy, acting as chairman of the committee, the council of Public Safety, the Councillor for Education, municipal representatives of the opposition, two Inspectors of Education, two directors schools, a teacher teams guidance and educational, and other educational guidance departments of Secondary Education, a technical adviser linked to the RESP program, the director of the Center for Social Services and the Head of the Municipal Truancy and Dropout.

One of the salient features of this commission is the plurality and the commitment to work holistically, sharing and coordinating experiences with preventive and dissuasive complementary actions, "because truancy shows a complicated family situation that requires dialogue and mediation and specific monitoring and effective, "said the Councillor for Social Policy, Antonio Puche.

The commission will meet in ordinary session once a quarter and at the end of this school year 2012-2013, its components have agreed to meet again during the second half of next October.
