Manifesto institutional gender violence (25/11/2011)

On 25 November is a key date for reflection.

This day invites an awareness of all those women who, in their daily lives, suffer gender violence.

They are our acquaintances, our friends, or maybe our mothers, daughters or sisters.

Today, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is the ultimate time to accompany them in their process and share their fear, their confusion, their feelings: guilt, shame, hope, always wrong-that change ...

On this day, we have a very special memory of the 59 women who, so far this year have been killed by their partners or former partners.

These 59 families torn apart because the men were believed to take away the right to life.

We also want these women who have for years been subjected to physical violence, and those others that have not received a single blow, but are victims of abuse that undermines subtle inside and cruelly attentive to his dignity.

In commemoration of this international day we echo also of children exposed to abuse that support their mothers.

It is other direct victims of gender violence who suffer severe injuries and for a long time, have been the forgotten.

But on November 25 is not just a day for reflection, is a day for action.

On this day the Murcian company wants to repeat, harder if possible, its firmness in rejecting the abuse and say that gender violence is not a "thing of them," but committed to public authorities and every one of people who make up society, every day of the year.

Therefore, we must fight against all forms of violence suffered by a large number of women, show rejection of all those who exercise it and not be complicit with our silence.

Today, November 25, 2011, is also a day for the recognition and hope.

It is a day in which we bring to light the testimony of women who have left their abusive situation.

Many women who have felt the support needed to give one of the most important steps in your life that have been protected, welcomed and accompanied by professionals with specialized resources, and have laid the foundation for building a new life.

With this manifesto:

We declare that no woman deserves to be abused, and that

nothing justifies a man who uses violence to subdue her.

Call for the need to join forces in one direction: the elimination of gender violence.

We reiterate the commitment of public authorities in preventing domestic violence and appropriate care to the victims, and the responsibility we all have to contribute to equality between men and women is a reality in any area and of course, also in relationships.

Thank you for your presence.

With it, your support is evident for women who suffer violence and the desire to achieve a society where respect and peaceful coexistence a reality.
