Tomas Ruiz Cánovas be officially named Honorary Citizen of Yecla on Saturday November 12 at the Municipal Auditorium (08/11/2011)

Tomas Ruiz Cánovas with the delivery of the distinction of Honorary Citizen of the City, one of the most important distinctions that the City Council may grant Yecla Municipal Regulations as established by the Protocol and Ceremonial, honor and distinction.

The ceremony of delivery of the distinction, will take place on Saturday November 12, at 13 pm in the Municipal Auditorium.

It will be chaired by the Mayor of Yecla, Mark Ortuño and will present members of the Municipal Corporation, representatives of associations and organizations in the city and especially the educational world of Yecla in which the honoree was part for much of his career.

Although born in the town of Malaga Casabermeja, "D. Thomas is a Yeclano own right more. The Mayor will chair the event, with the honoree and the Secretary of the Municipal Corporation who will read the minutes for agreeing the appointment of Honorary Citizen.

Also planned is the involvement of alumni, he glosses the distinguished figure, before the Mayor takes the floor, then proceeded to deliver the diploma and the badge of the Municipal Corporation to Tomas Ruiz Cánovas which then took the floor, before the Mayor closed the event and by the distinguished invited to sign the Golden Book of the City of Yecla.
