The City recovers valuable Muslim cistern five hundred meters from the town (28/03/2011)

The council has recovered the well Muslim way of Los Torrejones for citizens to learn more about how it was during the Middle Ages Yecla.

This tank, in particular, is located at the entrance to the path of the Torrejon, near to the settlement Almohad Yakka, linked to the ancient fortress at the foot of which arose the modern city of Yecla.

The action taken for recovery, which involves an investment of 23,400 euros, has involved the restoration of the front and rear of the structure and cleaning of all construction.

The environment has repaired the channel through which collected the water and have paved the surroundings.

The old fence was removed to build a new enclosure, consisting of a concrete wall finish and imitation wood that has been at a continuous screen and translucent acrylic.
