Yecla expands downtown pedestrian street with Child (21/03/2011)

Only vehicles transiting the residents to access their parking spaces and, to a limited extent, the loading and unloading businesses that supply

Councilman apologizes for the inconvenience of the works, especially by the arrangement of a defect taking place these days and Murillo Miguel Golf

The street of the Child Jesus, along with part of Hospital Street and Jane Street Valera small, will become pedestrian-only from May, when it reopened after the work is now being developed there.

This new space of 2,500 square-foot addition and a continuation of the large pedestrian-only area that already exists and which, from north to south, starting at the Parque de la Constitution, ending at the Plaza Mayor and includes roads Pottery , San Francisco, Martinez Carlini, Forte and Ercilla, and part of San Pascual Street, and the squares of La Purisima and Spain.

The Councillor for Public Works and Urbanism, Mark Ortuño, explains that this action "follows a natural trend that the city is seeking to recover for the average citizen as much as possible, as is done in other populations."

The new pedestrian zone covers more than 250 meters from the mold of the Child and to the street Don Lucio, in addition to the street Juan Valera.

Arranging Child Street and part of Hospital Street represents an investment of around half a million euros and includes the placement of at least a dozen banks and 22 cypress trees along the new pedestrian route.

For this new area for pedestrians, said the councilman of Public Works and Urbanism, transit vehicles may only neighbors who access their parking spaces and, with appropriate restrictions, loading and unloading of supply to businesses in the area.

In relation to the various municipal works, Ortuño apologize for the inconvenience especially to the neighbors who pass through the streets Miguel Golf and Murillo, where these days the dealership of the recent settlement of these streets are correcting some flaws in its execution.
