With the blessing ceremony, which will be held for the first time at the Municipal Auditorium on Sunday 5 December at 12.30 noon, will begin the 2010 Festivities in honor of the Virgen del Castillo, Declared National Tourist Interest.
Under existing ordinances, the President of the Association of Stewards, Francisco García Navarro, request permission to the first municipal authority to hold the ceremonies of the festivity of the Virgen del Castillo.
Yecla Mayor, Juan Miguel Benedito Rodriguez, accompanied by members of the Municipal Corporation, will read at a resolution of the Mayor in accordance with the said Ordinance, granted permission to hold from this day until December 19 Fiestas de la Virgen.
Later the entourage moved to the Assembly Room of the City Council from whose balconies shall hoist the flag and start from the Santuario del Castillo fifteen shooting rockets that will be answered by so many from the balcony of the Town Hall, while yield the ringing of campaigns in the city.
The Patron Saint of Yecla, will be held from 5 to 19 December, focused its most significant days in the Descent of the Patron of the Sanctuary, on the morning of December 7 and in the solemn procession on December 8, Big Day Feasts.
The image will return to their sanctuary on Sunday 16 December.
