Citizens request the implementation of the cooking and wine tourism training cycles in Yecla (26/04/2018)

Juan José Molina: "We want these cycles to be taught in Yecla because the Altiplano region has clear interests in the tourism and wine sector that are generators of economic development, wealth and employment opportunities"

Citizens has registered an initiative in the Regional Assembly in which they have requested the introduction of the medium-level cooking and gastronomy training cycle and a wine tourism training cycle in Yecla professional training centers, promoting the introduction of Dual Vocational Training in the development of both cycles.

Juan José Molina, regional deputy for Citizens, said that it is necessary to strengthen those training cycles that have more expectations for the future.

"Murcia is a tourist region with great potential, both on the coast and inland, and training cycles related to tourism, such as cooking and wine tourism have great potential."

Molina has indicated that Citizens has requested that these two cycles be taught in the municipality of Yecla because the Altiplano region has clear interests in the tourism and wine sector that are generators of economic development, wealth and employment opportunities

"The cooking cycles have always enjoyed a high demand for students, but this has not been covered with the seats offered by the Administration," said the orange training deputy.

"As a result, dozens of students, many of them from the Altiplano, are left out every year.

The majority of these students do not continue their studies and come to include the data of educational abandonment in our Region.

The implantation of the average level of cooking and gastronomy training cycle in Yecla would not only be a possibility for students of the Altiplano, but for those of nearby municipalities.

With regard to the wine tourism training cycle, Molina has highlighted the growing importance of this sector, emphasizing that Murcia is the only uniprovincial region with three certified wine routes, two of which, Jumilla and Yecla are located in the Altiplano.

"The implementation of the specialty of wine tourism in Yecla, taking into account the resources and infrastructure that this city has with 32 associated with the Yecla Wine Route Association, four wineries, an oil mill, four lodgings and 23 other companies related to the sector , would make feasible the realization of this type of training, through the specialty of Dual Vocational Training ", has concluded the deputy of the orange training.
