Yecla crowns the new Duathlon Champions of the Region of Murcia (25/02/2018)

Murcia has new Duathlon Regional Champions.

This morning the IX Ciudad de Yecla Duathlon was held, organized by the Arabi-Yecla Triathlon Club, which was also the Regional Duathlon Championship of the Triathlon Federation of the Region of Murcia.

Pedro Antonio López de Haro, from the Primaflor Águilas Triathlon Club, and Soledad Martínez Cañavate won the Regional Championship, being the fastest Murcians to cross the finishing line.

The yeclana test was won by Ognjen Stojanovic, from the University of Alicante, with a time of 54:23.

After him, arrived the aquiline and new Regional Duathlon Champion, Pedro Antonio Lopez de Haro, who stopped the clock at 54:33.

Antonio Luis Alcaraz remained with the third place with a time of 53:40 that gave him the Regional sub-championship.

In the women's category, the victory went to Eva Sánchez Pastor from Alicante, from the Petrer Triathlon Club, who stopped the clock in 1:02:57.

After it came Soledad Martínez Cañavate, from the Archena Ibercombus Triathlon Club, proclaiming herself as Regional Champion, with a time of 1:05:19.

In third place and with a time of 1:05:46, María López de Haro arrived from the Primaflor Eagle Triathlon Club.

A total of 283 duathletes, 159 absolute and 124 minors, have gathered in the yeclana race which consisted of 5 Kilometers of running, 20 cycling and 2.5 running again.

The ninth edition of the Ciudad de Yecla Duathlon started with the minors, with the Infant and Cadet category where Jesús Montoya Noguerol, from CT Caravaca, arrived in first position (26:32), followed by his teammates Alberto Sánchez Romero (27: 11) and José Antonio Marín Martínez (27:28).

In Infantil, the podium came back to cope with the members of the Caravaca Triathlon Club, with Daniel López Abril (28:54), Pablo León Marín (29:14) and Michael Stivens Zapata Valencia (29:58) in first place. third place.

In the female category, the cadet podium was formed by Andrea Durán Morote (30:16), from CT Caravaca, in first position, and the members of the Tritones Murcia Sport Club, Trinity Wales Solera (31:33) and Paula Sánchez García (32 : 59), in second and third position respectively.

The children's podium was formed, in first position, Isabel María Navarro García (30:15), of the CT Arabí Yecla-Catlike, Nieves Navarro (30:59), of the Tritones Murcia, in second position, and Violeta Hernández Díaz (33: 30) of the CT Arabí Yecla-Catlike, which went up to the third drawer.

In category Male Alevin, the fastest were the members of the Tritones Murcia Sport Club, Sandro Alcaraz Espinosa (17:39), in first position, and Lope Valero García (17:54).

The third step was occupied by Alejandro López Pérez (18:23), from CT Caravaca.

As for the female Alevín podium, it was formed by Eva María Sánchez Castro (18:53), from the Cartagena Triathlon Club, Aitana Pérez Oliver (19:51), Independiente, and Ascensión Agudo Soria (20:37), from AD Cehegín.

The next appointment for the regional Duathlon calendar will be in Caravaca next Saturday, March 3, with the minors at 14:45 and the absolute at 16:15.
