With more than 120 million inhabitants, Mexico is today a very attractive destination for Spanish manufacturers of furniture.

The figures support this.

In 2016, Spain exported furniture to Mexico worth 51 million euros, ranking 9th in the world ranking of destinations of Spanish furniture.

Also, during the first half of 2017, Mexican imports of Spanish furniture increased by 24.1% over the same period of the previous year to exceed the figure of 25.3 million euros.

Its strategic location between the United States and other Latin American countries, as well as its important real estate and tourism development, places Mexico in the spotlight of investors and exporters around the world.

The numerous contract projects of various types, especially in the hotel, residential and office sectors, make imports of furniture increase, so ANIEME considers that this is an area of special interest for Spanish furniture companies with capacity to work in the contract channel for the furnishing of facilities.

Within the framework of this activity of ANIEME, during the days 16 to 20 of October, the participating Spanish companies will meet with the 15 offices of architecture and interior design more prestigious of Mexico City, holding B2B meetings in which they will present their new collections of cutting-edge furniture for contract projects.

In addition, the Spanish companies participating in the IX BIENNIAL CIDI will present their new collections in the National Museum of Architecture of the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City, through an exhibition in which they participate more than 100 works of interior design, furniture design and landscaping of Latin America.

The exhibition at the Palace of Fine Arts will open on Thursday October 19 at 6:00 p.m. and will be open until April 1, 2018.

The President of ANIEME, Juan Carlos Muñoz, stated that "Mexico is a market of great importance for the Furniture of Spain, strategically located as a gateway to other Latin American countries, as well as the volume of purchases of a market of more than 120 million inhabitants, where the design culture is here to stay Some of the world's most renowned architecture and interior design offices are based in Mexico City and from them furniture for contract projects is prescribed both inside and outside the country The impressive evolution of Mexico in terms of design has managed to turn its capital, Mexico City, into the World Capital of Design 2018.

The quality and design of Mueble de España are appreciated in Mexico and undoubtedly meet the quality standards required for the real estate projects being carried out.

Spanish companies with cutting-edge products and those working the contract channel, have interesting business opportunities in the country, although it is necessary to point out the importance of having a consolidated distribution network to be able to access the projects through the prescription channel .
