The Municipal Socialist Group requests that the origin of the water from the vats supplied to the marble quarries of our municipality be investigated (09/10/2017)

Asun Molina has asked for explanations to the suspicions of several neighbors about the possible use of drinking water by the companies that exploit quarries in our surroundings, and also has demanded the improvement of the firm in the street Salzillo before its serious deterioration state

The Municipal Socialist Group has submitted two requirements to the local government on two issues that are causing citizen complaints.

On the one hand, they have transferred the suspicions of several neighbors whose houses are located in the vicinity of the marble quarries active in our municipality, by the continuous traffic of vats of alimentary use and that could contain potable water coming from our wells and aquifers for use in the cutting of this material and for irrigation of the roads that access them.

The spokeswoman of the Socialists recalled that there are currently four quarries La Pacolera, La Magdalena, Las Casas del Cerro and Marta, and has highlighted "our concern about the large volume of water that is required for this purpose and why not another interference can be allowed in the case where an inadequate use is being made of these companies with drinking water, which is of vital importance to the citizens of Yecla. "

Molina has said that the Socialists "continue to insist on the vulnerability of our aquifers and the obligation of our Government Team to ensure and monitor illegal extractions and abuses thereof, for which we call for an immediate investigation on the origin of the water from the vats they supply to the marble quarries of our municipality. "

On the other hand, Asun Molina has regretted that the municipal government is late again and has not been proactive in improving and adapting access to our city before the arrival of the highway as claimed a year and a half by the Municipal Socialist Group, requesting the necessary adjustment and adaptation of certain streets of our city, which bear a lot of traffic as it connects with different points of our city.

In this sense, the socialist spokesperson has put the focus on the situation in which the Salzillo Street is located, well-traveled by the school zones and also being an important way of connecting with the South zone of our city and with the sports facilities , more if it is possible to face the pitiful state in which this street is and is habitual, to see how the cars dodge the bumps, with the danger that this entails.
