The elimination of Gender Violence goes through awareness and prevention (16/11/2016)

The Council of Women and Family Councilor of Yecla City Council commemorates the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women with numerous activities scheduled during the month of November designed to prevent and raise awareness of society

Patricia Soriano, Councilwoman of Councilwoman for Family, Women and Emigration and Immigration, has presented the schedule of events planned from her council to commemorate November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Press activities to prevent and make aware of different social sectors, on this serious problem of the present society

The events began with the opening of the photography and comic exhibitions that will remain open until November 27 in the Biocliamatico Building

On 21 and 22 November, awareness-raising activities have been scheduled in schools in Yecla.

This year will be held in schools Miguel Ortuño, Méndez Nuñez and El Alba

On Wednesday, November 23, an information tent will be installed in the Plaza Mayor, encouraging citizen participation, with the establishment of ties against violence, with the collaboration of ASOCOMY and Proyecto Jóven.

On Thursday, November 24, starting at 6:00 pm, the Municipal Auditorium has scheduled a round table on the issue of gender violence in collaboration with the Association of Families and Rural Women (AFAMMER)

On 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, a concentration is planned in the Plaza Mayor, at 12:30 hours, where a public reading of a manifesto by the Mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño.

Later a meal will be made at the Aurora Restaurant (those interested in attending, must register with the Social Services Center)

The activities conclude on Monday 28 November with a talk on the sexist use of language by the psychologist Miguel Angel Jiménez, at the House of Culture, at 20:30 hours.

In addition, equality workshops have been scheduled in the children's classrooms of all the schools in charge of the Association Connexio;

Workshops on prevention of toxic relationships in Secondary Education institutes and awareness activities in health and educational centers, with Security Forces and Bodies, Young Project and Abraham Project, among others.

Do not forget that the shops and establishments of Yecla are participating during this month of November in an awareness campaign fomented by the Department of Family, Women and Emigration and Immigration, placing in the windows the violet tie that identifies the fight against this social scourge.
