The Municipal Socialist Group considers it necessary to act and prevent the continued destruction carried happening in recent months in our city and, besides damaging public spaces entails a cost to the City

The PSOE de Yecla will take the full City Council a proposal to address the worrying surge of vandalism that are taking place in our city in recent months.

Different gardens, infrastructure, street furniture, playgrounds or vehicles have undergone damage and graffiti, marring our heritage and causing additional costs to the City Council and private affected unnecessarily.

The spokesman of the Socialist Municipal Group, Asun Molina, said that "these destructions caused great unease, because it hurts Yecla and the general public, and we must work to prevent and track down those who perform such acts to raise awareness and educate on respect to the public. "

In this regard, the spokesman stressed that "it is sad to see how they are going on for serious months made. In this sense, they pose expedite the implementation of video surveillance cameras in points more likely to suffer damage municipality, and that these areas increase control by the local police, especially during weekends and holidays, hardening in legislation permitting sanctions for those conducting vandalism and they are required to increase awareness-raising activities.

Likewise, the Socialists believe that education is essential to address the problem in the medium and long term training strategies call for social awareness in schools and colleges of the municipality, promoting respect for what belongs to all, raising awareness of public spending hauling and placing value on the assets of public monuments.
