| The City Council together with the Peñas agree to suspend the Carnival 2021 | The Yecla Carnival joins a long list of parties that have been forced to be suspended because of COVID19 'Despite all the efforts by the supporters clubs and the City Council, we could not guarantee the celebration of the Carnival as we know it today 'Last Thursday, the Councilor for Celebrations, José Antonio Marín, met telematically with all the clubs that participate in the carnival of our town to make a decision regarding the edition of Carnival 2021.Aware of the current health situation and the difficulty of being able to carry out an alternative event due to the high number of participants from the different clubs, it was decided unanimously and by consensus to suspend the Carnival of Yecla 2021."Despite all the efforts by the clubs and the Yecla City Council, we could not guarantee the celebration of Carnival as we know it today," said the Councilor for Celebrations, José Antonio Marín.'The Carnival had to start preparing on these dates by the peñas and the chirigota ACHY and given the current health situation, the uncertainty and the possible development of restrictive measures by health agencies, an agreement was reached to take this difficult decision as soon as possible.

'In this way, the Yecla Carnival joins a long list of parties that have been forced to be suspended due to COVID19.Marín added that "the safety of the people of Yecla must first of all, and at this time it is not possible to guarantee that security.

I would like to finish not closing the door to a possible and reduced act of tribute to our Carnival, although it is still early and we do not know what the situation will be on those dates.

''I encourage all the carnival clubs and the chirigota ACHY to redouble their efforts so that the next edition that we hope can be held in 2022, through the quality and good work of the mimas, serves to consolidate even more if possible the Yecla Carnival promoting it as a benchmark '- José Antonio Marín concluded-.
