The Furniture Fair of Yecla will have 120 exhibitors from Spain, Germany, Portugal, Italy and Poland (10/09/2018)

The 57th edition of the Furniture Fair Yecla this year will feature 120 exhibiting companies in which, in addition to the companies of the Region of Murcia, will meet others from Spain, Germany, Portugal, Italy and Poland between 19 and September 20 with 17,000 meters of exposure.

Under the slogan 'Where the innovation was born', the industry of the Region will show the latest trends in the sector, its creations and future bets seeking to consolidate its market nationally and internationally and opening up to new markets with an important growth potential such as Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Romania and Taiwan.

Within the so-called 'International Meeting of the Furniture', organized by the Institute for Development in collaboration with the Fair and Regional Association of Wood (Arema), delegations from these countries will hold about 350 business meetings with regional companies in order to establish commercial lines and position themselves as a reference in these countries.

In this year's edition international importers, importers-distributors of furniture, chain stores with import capacity, commercial agents and prescribers will participate in these international meetings.

There will be 19 foreign companies that have shown interest in knowing the offer exhibited by participating Murcian companies.

The Minister of Employment, Universities, Business and Environment, Javier Celdrán, presented today with the mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño, the president of Arema, José Antonio Ortega, and the director of the Fair, Inmaculada Hernández, this new edition of the shows in which "the regional sector will show how it has been able to reinvent itself and how using quality and the best designs continues to be positioned in a preferred place in the international market".

Information of the sector

Currently, the wood and furniture sector groups more than 1,127 companies that generate more than 6,400 jobs, and accounted for a turnover last year of more than 483 million euros.

"The Region of Murcia is known and recognized for the quality and design of the exported products, so we are the eighth Spanish province in the export of furniture, with a figure that reached almost 83 million euros last year," he said. adviser.

The regional government supports the revitalization and modernization of the sector based on the use of new technologies and innovation, the increase of exports, training and specialization of human resources, the development of the brand origin of the Region of Murcia and the promotion of the use and implementation of electronic commerce in companies.

To do this, it has designed the 'Region of Murcia Habitat Plan' that reinforces design and innovation as formulas to face the low cost production that comes from other countries.

This plan has as solid bases the agreement, to listen to the businessmen and to design with them the tools that allow to boost the sector.
