We ask to adapt containers and urban bus for people with functional diversity (11/07/2018)

From the GM of United Left-Green we see very important the adaptation of services and infrastructures of our city to this sector of population.

As we already know, cities were built without taking into account the mobility problems of people with functional diversity or reduced mobility, as well as the services provided by public administrations.

People with functional diversity are an important population nucleus, not only in our country, but also in our municipality.

For all these reasons, from our municipal group we consider it very important to adapt our city's services and infrastructures to this sector of the population.

In other municipalities steps are already being taken in this direction.

There are many examples we can put of cities that, for example, have begun to adapt their waste containers so that people who use wheelchairs can make use of them.

It is also important to install a sound system in municipal buses for people with visual functional diversity such as the one patented by the Municipal Transport Company of Malaga, which provides information on the stop, departure time and route of the line.

We could give examples of other improvements, but before raising any further issue we should make a study of how to put these and other adaptations as viable as possible.

We believe that it is also time to raise new social clauses within the contracts, as we propose through a proposal in the plenary session.

In summary, we launched these first two proposals with the aim of continuing to deepen in this field.

Likewise, we request that information on these technical reports and their progress, as well as on the viability of both proposals, be given to us in the Public Services information commissions.
