The Association of Friends of Music of Yecla informs that next July will start the Ukulele Course at the School of Music of the Association of Friends of Music of Yecla, aimed at all those who have ever been attracted by this instrument, of all ages and at any level.

The ukulele is an instrument of the guitar family, it has four strings and comes from Hawaii, although its predecessor is a Portuguese instrument.

In recent years its popularity has been increasing, captivating many people and generating more and more interest.

The course will take place during the first half of July, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Classes will be of one hour, in the time slot from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, depending on the group to which it belongs, except the first and last class that will last two hours.

This activity is intended for all people over 9 years of age, with or without knowledge of music and / or ukulele.

The registration period ends on June 29 and places will be limited by strict order of registration.

The price of the course will be € 30.

The course, of 8 hours, distributed in six group sessions, will allow to discover and know the instrument, learning to play songs with melodies and chords.

The course will begin on July 2 with a presentation class that all students will have to attend, so we can get to know each other, since the objectives, apart from learning to play the ukulele, is to play together.

There will be an initiation group, formed by those who have never played the ukulele, and an improvement group, which will be formed by those who already know the instrument and already know how to play something.

The students will begin in the study of the ukulele, learning to play songs as soloists with punctuated melodies, to form chords by making songs with different rhythms and to work in a group manner, also learning the value and importance of belonging to a group, fostering friendship and teamwork.

Each one has to bring their own ukulele (if they need any guidance in case they have to acquire one, ask the teacher) and pencil or pen, the rest of the material will be provided.
