"More policies are needed innovation and new technologies to improve the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises" (09/05/2010)

The deputy and secretary of Innovation and New Technology of national PSOE, María González Veracruz was in Yecla to visit with Antonio Villaescusa, socialist city spokesman, various leading companies on innovation and Technology Centre and Wood Furniture.

For both, one of the priorities for improving the competitiveness of the industry is "easier for small and medium enterprises to adjust to new technologies to optimize all possible resources."

Maria Gonzalez said that "we have seen how important it is to modernize the companies and apply new technologies to advance production systems.

I believe that public institutions should direct their efforts to support industry and energy and use new technologies in the day to day work of enterprises, and this requires funding easier. "

In addition, the deputy said, "It is amazing how the furniture sector in the region, which is almost entirely centralized in Yecla and is the second largest industrial sector, is completely forgotten by the Regional Government, the result of poor economic development model that led back to a city which has greatly contributed to the Community and its entrepreneurs and workers. "

Antonio Villaescusa believes that "the export is critical and we believe the Regional Government does not help yeclanas firms go abroad to seek new markets.

We believe that in the future things will not be as easy as have been before, and we believe that there are serious threats, but there are many obvious opportunities, and from all government must seek a smart strategy to turn the crisis into an opportunity ".

Villaescusa said that "while the PSOE de Yecla has proposed a deal two months ago the municipal government to decide jointly with other political forces in the direction of the major challenges such as industrial restructuring Yecla or General Plan of Urban Planning face out of the crisis and the future in the medium and long term, we see how the PP government team is dedicated to wasting time on other less important things like seeing if your partner has government or councils, guided by nerves face election next year instead of focusing on what really matters.
